Optimist or Pessimist

I like the idea of the glass being half empty or half full and the relation it has to people's answers...are they optimistic about things or are they pessimistic? What does the glass look like to you?

Too Young shows a bride and groom posing together but they are shown as a doll and a teddy bear to give the feeling of youth. The bear is dress in a dress uniform for the Army and the bride has on her beautiful dress. I have friends in the Army and they are both 21 and younger yet they are already married and living the lives that many struggling 40 something couples are facing. This is just basically showing that I think even if you are going into the Army or any other armed service I think getting married at 18 or 19 years old is way too young.

Here AJ gets serious in a spiffy looking black outfit, something he usually wears while at fraternity meetings.

Krantzy Lighting

This is my roommate Steve Krantz, or Krantzy Pants as I like to call him. He is in a band here in Mount Pleasant called Day In Day Out so he is always sitting around our house playing his guitar. I had the unfortunate situation of not being able to check out all of the stuff I needed so I made it work by holding my strobe and bouncing it off the walls and the ceiling, sometimes with it uncovered and sometimes with my snoot on it to direct it where I wanted it. These are two of my better results.

Peace*Love*Marley

When you think of Bob Marley you think of happiness. When you think of happiness you think of peace and love. When you think of peace and love in Bob Marley's world...well this is what you get.
For this picture the light is behind me and I'm kneeling on the floor in front of the table.


Just a more straight on view with the prop set-up actually on the poster. For this one the light is at the side and I'm standing on something to take the shot over the top of the table.

This is my play on a snow angel except with it being more close to Halloween than Christmas it is my Halloween angel. I basically had my roommate lay on the ground and pretend like she was 5 and playing in the snow.


I like this one because my plan was to take a flashlight and kind of light up some of the background to add a creepy tone to the picture but I noticed after a practice picture that the lights did that enough. I also like it because in the last second or two I moved the camera slightly and my roommate closed her eyes so it looks like she is praying in a creepy area with a ghost over her shoulder.

Studio assignment 1

This Is Jeff Keson he is a Senior here at CMU and is studying Art History and Photography. He is also a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon and Leadership Safari. I found he was an easy subject to work with because he not only knows what he is doing working in the studio but can also get infront of the camera and feel comfortable too.

I really like the angle of this picture and how good the shadow looks behind Jeff. I just think this looks like a really cool picture.

I'm really sorry everyone I tried to put my pictures up but I'm not understanding this blogging stuff, makes me sound real cool right.
